About Karin Finlayson – Vinyasa Yoga & Meditation Teacher
With over a decade of teaching experience across Sydney and Europe, Karin Finlayson is a passionate and dedicated yoga teacher known for her dynamic Vinyasa flow and mindful approach. Her classes seamlessly blend strength-building postures, fluid movement, and deep relaxation, creating an experience that leaves students feeling both empowered and restored. Every session concludes with a grounding meditation, allowing students to step off the mat feeling lighter and more connected.
Karin’s yoga journey began with PowerLiving Australia, where she completed her teacher training. Since then, she has pursued numerous advanced courses both in Australia and overseas, continually deepening her knowledge and refining her teaching style. She is dedicated to helping students move intuitively, breathe deeply, and embrace self-care through yoga. Her guiding philosophy? “Honour what your body needs, and everything else will follow.”
As the founder of Double Bay Yoga on the Wharf and Vaucluse Yoga at the Yacht Club (part of the Sydney Harbour Yoga Club), Karin has created a unique yoga experience right by the water, where students can connect with nature, breathe in the fresh sea air, and deepen their practice in a truly inspiring setting.
Originally from Austria, Karin moved to Australia over 13 years ago, drawn by love and a desire for adventure. Before dedicating herself fully to yoga, she worked in marketing for global charities like UNICEF and the Children’s Cancer Institute, driven by a passion for making a difference.
When she’s not teaching, Karin follows her love for the ocean, working as a luxury yacht broker at Flagship International in Rose Bay & Point Piper. She is also the founder of Digital White Rabbit, a website development agency helping businesses bring their visions to life.
Beyond yoga, beach volleyball, travel, skiing, and cooking are some of her favourite pastimes—anything that nourishes both the body and soul. While she’s passionate about healthy, wholesome food, she happily indulges in chocolate now and then!
